Post Slicks for 15x7 turbines

What size slicks will i be able to fit on some 15x7 turbine wheels? I have a rear disc brake conversion so the wheels stick out 3/4" of an inch more each side than drum brake mustangs, so i may have some wheel well issues with larger tires. I'm going to cut the fender lip to help, but i was wondering what size would you guys go with?
Also if need be i could buy wider wheels for tires, but i'd like to avoid that if at all possible.
Also what is your favorite drag slick, i've been looking at Mickey Thompson, Hoosier, Goodyear and don't really know what to get in terms of tire.
Thanks,
Rick

I am buying slicks for my old turbines as well I have decided to go with Hoosier 26X8 inch slicks.

I have heard the rule is + or - 2 inches......So the maximum width you could "safely" run would be a 9 inch slick.

I have seen people put 10 inch slicks on turbines before with out problems. I am going to error on the side of caution though.

Later,

you can get away with a pretty fat slick on the turbines i had an 11" on one pair no forget that those were on ten holes which are 8"wide i would say go with the 26x8's they should fit nicely inside the wheel well somehow when i had the 11's on my ten holes they fit perfectly inside the wheel well sans quadshocks of course and were a full 12" wide it looked awesome this was on my former '92 lx

10holes are the same size as turbines, 15x7

I have a set of 26x10 slicks (actually tread width measures 10.5")on my 10holes and have never had a problem.

But since yours stick out 3/4" farther, you MAY have some clearance issues with the fender lip area. So I'm gonna vote for the 26x8.5's

Cool guys, thank you for the replies. I've found a few people that can hardly give away their ten hole wheels which would be perfect for slicks. I'll buy the 26x8.5's then.
You've been alot of help guys, thanks again.

i have 26x8.5 micky et drags on turbines.u dont need more then 8.5 in tire for a stang unless u have huge horsepower.alot of people get a wider tire because they don't hook, but dont realize that there clutches are shot in the rear end.i have around 500 hp with stock suspension and no weight reductions and it doesn't spin at all.i personally would rather get the et street drag tire just because driving the et drags arent really made to drive in any thing other then a straight line
