slicks

:D hello,

I have a 89 GT. I have a set of M/T 26X8.5's on stock turbine rims. I want to go to some bigger rims and slicks, probably 26X10's. what would be the size of rim I would need, size plus back spacing?
What is the biggest slick you can get in there? just curious. Thanks

Re: slicks

I have ran 26X10.5 mickey thompson slicks on stock turbines with no problems for over 3 years. We are talking about hundreds of 1/4 mile runs without issue.

On a side note if you cant hook with 26X8 slicks you have suspension issues. I pull 1.6 60ft's on 26X8 hoosier slicks right now.

I think most people run 15X8 rims with 4.5-5.5 back spacing.

As far as the biggest slick you can fit in there without doing some massaging with a hammer. The biggest I have seen is 28X11.5's and he had to roll the lip on his fender wells.

I fit 28x11.5 ET streets oh my notch without doing anything, but they rub the fender lips in turns, I need to roll them.

A buddy of mine rolled his fender lip and took a sledge hammer and a grind to his inner fender and he as a set of 28x13.5 ET streets on his 90 GT
