Your clutch will probaly go out first if you have a stocker. I had slicks and launched at 4000-4500 if I remember right.....Man it launched hard.

I can think of manythings that will break b4 your axles and certianly not your diff assembly itself, umm stock driveshaft dont like much abuse, your clutch, first gear,
but you dont have the torque to break stuff that quick so go ahead and have fun!!!!!!! |
BTW what are you doing extrude honeing your intake thats freakin expensive shiat there are much cheaper ways to getting better flow for your car is it a stock intake or did you hone an after market intake if you did you have way too little cam for you intake and I'd work on those gears (stock gears 2.73, 3.08, 3.27's?)too, I could see your car being miles faster if you spent money in the right spots
see ya Sean |
well i have a stock intake extrune honed because im really into street racing and that gives off an impression of a stock intake also in the rear i have a set of 373 that i like very much i also have a HD clutch in there two.

My cousin has gone 12.2 with 3.73 gears, stock diff., stock axles, and 26x8.5 tires. I make around 300 RWH and with a 5000 launch on slicks i destroyed an auburn unit.

I used to have a '94 GT that had an F303 cam, factory heads, intake, clutch, driveshaft, axles,......the car was factory except for the F cam, and a set of 3.73s. I run slicks on the car. the best I got with streets was a 9.96 (1/8 mile) and I launched at 2,000 rpm! I bolted on a set of 28x10.50 slicks and I got a whopping 6,000 rpm launch that turned a 8.99, but i only run three times in fear that I was going to break something the whole time.
