Re: smog pump

Your best bet is to get a smog pump deletion kit, this will enable you to use the factory belt. You can throw a short belt on there as well and just bypass it all together. Trickflow also sells some plugs for your heads where the smog tube is, you can remove the tube completely. Back pressure will not be an issue, but bypassing the smog pump can ruin your cats, clogging them. The pump feeds oxygen to them to keep them cooler with all the unburned fuel from the engine, they will glow red when there bad. So an off road pipe is a must when deleting the pump. Remember though, if you ever have to move to a place where smog is a concern, you'll want to keep the pump and stock pipe.
