Post smog removal

Can someone direct me to a website or books that explain the process of removing all of the emissions equipment such as the air pump, egr and all associated lines. I would like to get a better understanding of what other modifications I will have to do once I remove all this stuff. Do I need a new Intake Manifold? New brackets for power steering pump?

Thanks for any info.

If it's legal in your state just go ahead and start taking all of it off, it is very easy. You will need threaded plugs to go into the back on the heads but all you really do is take the tubing off, the air pump can come off and you can either buy a bracket to keep the same length belt or I have a short belt that just goes around the crank, water pump and alt. You will also need to plug where the air tube connects to the H-Pipe. I still have a EGR spacer, as I was told it isn't hurting anything.

Shaft7, you can get the threaded plugs for the heads at any hardware store. Try in the plumbing dept.

It's a 83 5.0 GLX convertible. I'm trying to decide if I want to rebuild with or without emissions. I would like to rebuild the 302 without all that garbage in the engine bay. To me there's nothing like a simple but powerfull car.I will try Fletch's site. Thanks.
