Spedometer Problem
 
i have a 1989 Gt 5.0, the speedometer/speed and mileage parts have stop working, completely... one minute it was working, then just stopped...i did replaced speedo gear, when i put in a 3:73 ring/pin, but that was almost a year ago.. any suggestions?? Cable?? or sensor?? it seems more mechanical. Thanks for all your help..

id that the sensor off the tranny and go from there

cable may need lubricating with graphite in a tube.
It looks pencil lead powder.
I tried WD 40 and it only last about a week.
Also PB Blaster only last about 2 weeks.
The graphite powder was working for 5 years and than I wrecked the car.
