Speed Density And Cams
 

i have seen so many posts/replies that you guys are running cams, heads, intakes, nitrous, superchargers, etc, on density motors, no custom chips or other tweekers, and these motors idle fine.

I have had several density cars and NEVER could get a "B" cam for instance to idle even remotely decent, HOW IS THIS BEING DONE? I JUST DONT BELIEVE IT, I NEED MORE TECHNICAL PROOF OTHER THAN "LOTS OF GUYS ARE DOING IT AND THEY RUN FINE"

I don't want an argument, I want specific parts/packages/set-ups, etc....

88workcar was basically the talk of the board awhile back. He was running low 12's on either a E or B cam.
He hasn't been around in a real long time, but other people here know his combo (Unit maybe?)

Once again, thanks, but I can make a list. I just don't believe that package is possible, especially with the Nitrous, wheres the fuel at for this?

I'm sorry that you didn't know him like the rest of us did, but he was on the money. If you want more proof, then build it yourself and test it. It sounds like that is the only way you'll be satisfied. BTW, his results were FAR from fantasy.

gtsr515 Mess with your fuel pressure. I've made numerous very long posts on why SD works the way it does and how to modify it.

The combination for 88workcar that PKRWUD listed is old. As far as I know, his current combination features Edelbrock alumium head's, along with his swap to an E303 cam. He was running VERY low 12's N/A on slicks with these additions.

MAF has no bearing on N20 use. Why would you think that it would?

Plenty of Mustang owners have done major mods on SD engines and managed to obtain good idle quality, but it's not automatic or always easy.

We have posts in our archives that explain some of the details but it's up to you to search for them, it's not our members obligation to 'prove' anything to you.

By the way, i use to have a A trim on my car and i was able to see 6.5 psi on cold day. Someone stole my car and when the police find it, no supercharger and the insurance did not pay for it. I had a check valve and a bleeder on the hose that go to the map sensor( it can't read boost) and fmu to add the extra fuel. A guy that i know at the track have a 9psi procharger with 24 pound injectors with a speed density computer and no chip. A nitrous system run the same way has mass-air.the Nitroust jet is just before the throttle body like mass-air. Why do you think it can't run? Nitrous have nothing to do with the computer.

I think that you don't really understand how a dry nitrous system work, do some research. 88 workcar run B-E cam, i use to run a supercharger and i've seen plenty of nitrous system on speed density.
