Lightbulb What is your excuse?

Why don't you have one of these yet? $9 at Wal-Mart. I decided today that my car is worth at least $10. Just food for thought in case you have been putting it off.

Cool No excuse here

I got one like that for Christmas a few years back.

One thing I want everyone to remember is,if they have baking soda inside the extinguisher, every once and awhile, shake the fire extinquisher so that the baking soda doesnt settle to the bottom.

If this is not done, the time you need the fire extinguisher,it will not work properly.

Default baking soda...

Do I need to do that on this one? It is a type B/C. It is very easy to remove so that would be easy.

ok what you have is a multiple purpose class B and C fire extinguisher which will handle
fires that involve grease, gas, oil, as well as electricle fires.

you have a multi-purpose dry chemical fire extinguisher which does use baking soda.

Default No excuse!

I have one in the 'stang... hope I never need to use it though.

At least it's got a chrome finish... that should make it worth a coulpe HP, right?

The halon fire suppression systems are the way to go on any serious effort racecar... not too well versed on 'em, but have seen where they can come in handy while saving your life, and more importantly.... your car!

edited to add HALON to my sentence... thanks for reminding me JaxTheDJ

I have two, one in each car also.
Correct me if I am wrong but isn't that kind of a bad location for it, I mean boom there's a fire and I have to unbuckle out of a 5point harness crawl over the seat and unhook it from the rear? Mine are both snug next to the driver seat for quick access. Very good idea though, heard about a guy stopping on the road to help someone else with an engine fire then down the road his car caught an engine fire to and he didn't have anything to put it out with!

Exactly what I thought as soon as I saw the picture...

But I guess I have no room to talk as I don't even have one. However, I'm buying one this week. Definitely a good safety measure. Thanks for reminding us.

Just a hint, get a Halon extinguisher,it will put our a fire faster and with NO mess. Thats what I have in kine. More money, less cleanup for a small fire.

I don't have a 5 point harnes or a roll cage. All I have to do is reach back there or flip the seat foward and get it. The harness that holds the extinguisher takes less than a second to release. I don't want it next to people's feet or in the trunk. It is better than nothing for me.
