Default speedo sensor?

Two things: First, is the speedo sensor and speedo gear the
same thing?

Second, I was charged 273.97 dollars for a EGR
valve. I found it on the internet for about 98 dollars
Did they really sucker me?

Thanks,
Brad

No the speedo gear is on the end of the cable or in the case of late model stang on the end of the sensor. The sensor is the sort of round piece that has the wires on it that goes into the trans and then the speedo cable goes into it. Yes you did get burned on the egr valve I beleive they are about $70 at autozone
