The 23 tooth gear is not a ford part but is available from a couple of aftermarket dealers. I did not have good luck with it. It self destructed after 500 miles. so I will use the 6tooth drive and the 19tooth driven for my t5 w/ 4.10's If you have an AOD you can't change your drive gear because it's machined onto the shaft.

I'm at work, but I can post the Jeep part number when I get home, 6hrs. from now.
I have heard that the 23 tooth will get chewed up some, what is recomended is that you file the teeth down to alieviate (man I can't spell) the problem. The old speedo gear on the end of a drill and spin it in sand paper trick. I did not do this, and I have had no problems, although I've only put about 3000 miles on it since the gear and speedo gear swap. Let me know... |
i am just going to switch both the drive and driven gears so i won't have to worry about it.
