Post Stalling fixed, but now won't start when cold !!

I wanted to thank people for helping me fix the "stalling while driving" problem I had, it was the original fuel pump causing that, that was the scariest problem I've ever had (stalling on the highway, etc)

BUT, now, another problem has come up, it won't start when its cold outside (ie: 7am in the morning, 11pm at night, etc)

It'll start (barely) when the weather is warmer, and when the engine has warmed up, it can be shut off, and started up easily 100x (if I wanted to)

Any ideas ??

Thanks a lot !!

I know this might sound funny, but you probably live in a moist climate right? If you do it might be something as simple as a distributer cap. I had a Jeep Comanche that would never start in the rain or in the mornings and evenings when it was damp out from the dew. A mechanic told me to replace my cap and swore it would fix it and sure enough it did. I thought that was kinda weird, maybe it isn't?

I'd try the simple tuneup stuff like a fuel filter, cap, rotor, plugs, etc and see if that doesn't help. Also check all the electrical connections on your car, especially the 10 pin connectors behind the intake. I'm not sure if that'll help, but it's all easy and cheap enough to try.

thanks 2FastLX

okay, before I start the above, I have a funny 'gut' feeling that it might be the coil...

Is there anyway to verify this, test the coil, before I go buy a new one?
(I just did the Ford Motorsports tune-up kit 6 months ago, with new wires / plugs / cap / rotor) so I would like to replace them only if necessary after I've tested the coil...
Do coils get "weak" ??

thanks!

hey guys, great news, I changed the plug wire going from the coil to the cap of the distributor, AND ALL IS GOOD !

I'm going to change my wires too, just because I don't ever want this to happen again...

Thanks, and I hope this helps someone down the road by not having to worry what it is that is wrong...

Great news. I just sent you an email, but you already got it so good. I'd look into some MSD wires. They are really sweet. I have Taylors on my car now and they are nice as well, but I think the next ones will be MSD.

OK, I THINK ITS FIXED !

Sat around, drank some beers, then a friend and mechanic came to conclusion that its the TFI module..

SURE ENOUGH (replace it, and it starts up like a brand new stang, first turn, cold or warm, wet or dry)

I'm happy, HERE I COME CAYUGA!!

Did I mention that after changing the plugs, wires, etc, it still was hard to start when cold, I guess the TFI was fooling around with me, trying to make it seem like I had fixed it, and just waiting to fail when it was the least-convinient!!

: )
