Steeda quadrant question
 

I just installed a new steeda quadrant. Once done, I noticed that with the quadrant on, and cotter pins installed, the quad itself is able to slide back and forth on the shafts. Is this normal? should I try to center it with the cable hole using washers? Or will the cable tension keep it centered?

Also, what is the correct routing path for the clutch cable? I dont think it was previously installed correctly, causing the bushing at the firewall to get badly distorted (and possibly contribute to my transmission problems:mad: )

My UPR quadrant slides back an forth on the shaft, it works perfectly, the cable seems to aline it by itself. But I've heard of alot of people that use washers to line it up.

You could try using washers, dont see why it wouldnt work. Heres what i did, Take your old quadrant and cut off the extensions coming off the side, cut it flush to the quad and use that. then you have a perfectly spaced quad.

Thanks guys, I may just try it the way it is and see how that works, especally since it was such a pain to get on in the first place. if that doesent work, I'll try the cutting off the spacer idea.:D
Any suggestions about the cable path?

main doesn't have spacers or washer's and it's fine. I wouldn't worry about it.

My cable runs under the motor mount and to the left of the steering shaft if your are looking at the car from the front.
