Steering rack install question...

So I have everything disconnected, the tie rods, input shaft pinch bolt, and rack to crossmember bolts. The rack slides off all the way off the passenger side but won't come all the way off the driver side. It seems like it is snagged on something. Any ideas? Do I have to disconnect something else with the input shaft or do I have to keep pulling? Anything else I should know about putting the new one on? Thanks for the help.

the only thing that you have to worry about is the two power sterring lines, tie rods, sterring shaft and the two LONG blots that hold it to the chassis. Make sure the hoses aren't catching on anything.... if it's the stock one, it might be in there pretty good. spray some brake cleaner everywhere to losen up the dirt. Both sides should slide off evenly. If it's not caught on anything, don't be afraid to give it a good hard pull. You ain't going to use it again, so don't worry about it. :D

Make sure the two lines are disconnected. I replaced one last year and both fitting that allow the nut to turn freely were siezed so I had to cut one line, and rotate the entire rack around the other one. The reason I did this was because the auto parts store was out of stock on the hoses.

I'd rather replace a head gasket then do another steering rack.

Good luck and use lots of penetrating oil!

Thanks for the help guys. I just got home from work and it has been soaking in penetrating oil all night so I'm gonna give it a shot now. I'll let you'll all...

Right now the entire rack is out except the input shaft. It is stuck in the little bracket that the pinch bolt goes through. Shouldn't it slide out after the pinch bolt has been taken out? I didn't think that I had to take that bracket off.

You don't have to take the sterring shaft off at the firewall, just where the stupid ghetto rubber bushing is. Glad everything seems to be going good for ya :)
