Default Novi 1000 installed...belt is squealing

I just installed a new Novi 1000 SC on my '93 5.0. The car seems to be fine when idling, but when I accelerate quick....SQUEAL!!!!

Help...I tried tightening the belt and the squealing remained constant....even when idling.

Try getting in there and tightening up your belt. I had the same problem when mine was first installed. Check the belt about once a week until you notice that the belt is not becoming loose anymore. Mine went away within the first 200 miles or so. Hope this helps.

tighten it down but be careful not to crank on it too hard thats alot of sideways force on the crank and if you overtighten it you can eat up crank bearings or shatter the harmonic balancer i learned this the hard way. twice. the first time i got lucky and i only cracked the balancer but the second time it came apart at about 5500rpm and all hell broke loose under the hood you might consider an 8 or 10 rib pulley setup.

Do you have the stock pulley set up?? How many #'s of boost are you seeing? Are you running the FCU? What size injectors? Sorry for all the questions but I'm installing a NOVI 100 in a few weeks and I'm trying to figure out whether I want to use the FCU or scrap it.

With a decent 60' time, you should see low 13's pretty easily. Please let me know if you run into any other problems.

Default Webpage

I checked out your webpage and found this amusing...

"I am going the Normally Aspirated route, no NOS or blowers for me thanks."

I laughed when I thought back to your original question on the board. So many mustang owners have said the same thing. We all turn to the dark side eventually... or maybe a stroker

I have the stock pulley setup including AC. I do not know the Boost yet, going to install a boost gauge soon. Stock engine, so 19lb injectors. I have the FMU installed.
