Stereo Problem...
Since not a lot of ppl here go in the audio forum, I think this is the next appropriate place for this problem...
I just installed my GF's head unit in her new 95 Convert. I have done head unit installs at least 20-30 times. I wired it up and everything is good.... until you turn the car off. :( It doesn't keep this time or preset stations. It's like the power to the car keeps resetting itself. I used the factory wiring harness that was in the car. I know I'm not going crazy. The negative is black, the 12v power is red (stock is green), and the A/C power is yellow. I even used a volt meter to determine what wire is what... Which wire is the problem? The stereo works fine, because it was working fine in her Prelude. |
if all of the presets and everything get reset when the car is turned off that means that it is not getting 12v from the battery.
I would say recheck the red wire and make sure there is power even when the ignition is completly off. The yellow wire should only have power when the key is turned to the accessory or on position. |
That makes sense, I'll give it a try... Thanks
