Default Stock Oil Press Guage not working???

I am trying to fix my stock oil pressure guage. When I tun the key but not enough to crank the motor the guage goes all the way to the top and sticks. But as soon as I turn the engine on the guage drops all the way down and stays there? I has not worked since I got the car. Any one know what's wrong or how to fix it??? PLEASE HELP

Much more likely to be the sending unit than the gauge.

Unit 5302 is right about the sending unit probably being messed up. If I were you and could spend the money, I would invest in an aftermarket oil pressure guage. The stock ones suck, they don't move at all and they should because oil pressure is directly related to engine rpm's. Just my opinion. Hope this helps.
