I have replaced my lifters, pushrods, and rocker arms and i still have a valvetrain noise comming from the #8 cylinder area. I think the car has had valve jobs done in the past and therefore there could be gap in between the rocker arm and the pushrod/valvestem. To close this gap i am going to need the longer length pushrod. If the stock pushrod is 6.25 (summit lists otherwise) then a .010 longer (6.260) pushrod will make the gap close and not have too much negative gap, right??? Where can i get a pushrod like this??? Please Help!!

When I put the Crane 2031 cam in, my pushrods ended up being too short. Crane sells a 6.375" pushrod, which I bought and added shims under the roller rockers to get the proper preload. They'll also make custom lengths for you. I've still got some valve train noise, had a friend who races his 347 stroker listen to it and said it's not unusual.

The Crane 2031 is very close to my E303, correct?? What shims and/or how many did you use. I understand that if there is too much pre-load then the valve will burn up so how many thousanths of preload is recommended or alloud? and if i just have this ticking from one valve would there be anything preventing me from using those pushrods and the shims for that valve alone?? Thanks
