straying away from the sound

trying to find out which brand of muffler performs decently well while being quiet at the same time ...talked to the local exhaust guy and he told me walker dynomax but im afraid of the dynomax brand (i had race bullets for about a week and it sounded horrid) its really hard to get away from the sound because i have no cats but im tired of it - right now i have 3 chamber delta flow's on and the noise is still gettin' to me. anybody have any ideas, comments, suggestions ...anything?
im wanting to move towards ..stealthyness

thanks, tony

A buddy of mine has flow tech mufflers on his fox, (no cats) its really quiet inside the car, isnt real loud outside, just loud enough to let ppl know it's stil a V8 mustang. Has a good deep tone to it.

thanks, ill look into those - anybody have any luck with resonators? or notice a big difference after taking them on/off?

i like my magnaflows, no cats. quiet at idle and low rpm's, nice unique sound when you get on it. not typical flowmaster stang sound. there was a good article comparing all mufflers in an older issue of 5.0 mustang magazine. i can look for it if u want.

I went with dynomax super turbos all the way out the back. It's a great daily driver. I can hold normal converstaions at highway speeds!

I have the cheapo summit mufflers on mine and they are really quiet and they must flow pretty decent cause my car hits easy 12's with an all motor 302.

Well, If you running dumps before the axle then obviously its going to be loud no matter what. I would run tail pipes on flow 3's. i mean the car obviously isn't a sleeper. But I would dump the dumps if your running them.

Re: straying away from the sound

does the cowl hood give it away? lol nah man no dumps but when i first ran the car i had 2 chambers dumped right after the muff and wow it was the deepest meanest thing you have ever heard ...even from 4 blocks away :D

i do have tail pipes though ..i found a chart and it said the borla XS was the quiestest that offered the best performance - if i find it again ill post it

i was also thinkin about just keeping my 3 chamber flows and adding resonators but im not too sure that it will quiet it down that much
