Stroked vs. Blown
I have been contemplating superchargin my pony and had a thought. Would I be able to get as much HP/TQ out of the motor if I stroked it? What all would be involved in doing it? Costs are similar (maybe a slight bit more for a stroker kit) but I think I would like the motor stroked a little better. Any suggestions or experiences?

Last time I checked, modular 2V stroker kits were putting out much less to the ground than a top of the line Procharger kit does.
But then again its been about a year since I've looked into it...

I read a quite extensive thread on another board about stroking vs big bore, and the strokers on the mod motors arent showing gains that are typical of a stroked 5.0. Now, I dont know exactly how big of a big bore they are referring to, but I am sure it is quite large. I would say, go for the blower. There are proven results in that area.

I would go with the stroker and then save your money and do the blower later
a bad tank of gas a bad tune or what can and will cause the piston or rods to window the block that way if you go with a stroker it will have a forged bottm end and make more power so when you do supercharge it you will be able to make a lot more ans it be safe buts thats just me

Get some drag suspension and then you'll be really cooking. Get ya that forged stroker, then throw some spray on top of it if your still not happy.

I just looked into buying a stroker kit for a 4.6 and found them to be around $2000. This isn't too bad but you only get 29 additional cubic inches out of it (310). I prefer the supercharger first and foremost cuz a stock 4.6 will handle 10 or less lbs of boost for years................

and those were at 8psi ive them let go at 6psi its all in the tune and how you drive your car you can get over 300rwhp out of a stroked motor with bolt ons and them throw a blower on top of that with low boost(6-8) you would be in the 450 range and since you have the beef in the bottom end you can have abiltiy to make over 600 with the right fuel and tuning with the change of a pulley

Thats a realistic Over 300 rear wheel horsepower...not some of these overblown, good on paper only dyno reading some people get. I still stand by Stroker...Then later...blower if you want one.
