|  stupid air silencer question I live in NY and was worried that if I remove the air silencer I might run into problems in heavy rain or snow. Any truth to this?

| NO! I removed mine about 10 years ago and drive it year round, through rain and snow and NEVER had an issue. Now I have a ram air setup with the scoop mounted below the front bumper and the car lowered 1 1/2 inches and I still have never had a problem. I drove down a road the other day during a huge rain storm and the water in the road was up to the top of the curbs and I still had no problems with it.

| When was the last time you saw rain or snow on the inside of your front fender, up to the height of the air sliencer? Its impossible, unless you drive into a lake, or the snow is somehow blown up and packed into the fenderwell from underneath the car, which isnt going to happen. |

| well, i took the silencer off. i did notice that there was a small amount of water in the silencer itself and a little in the airbox before reaching the K&N filter. is this normal? the day before i had to drive during a horrible downpour w/ some large puddles that caused flooding in some areas.............

| In fact, some of us inject water (or alky, or alky AND water) into out motors on purpose!!!
