Success!!!
Classic Lean misfire?
Well, it cost me about 30hp at the dyno. I checked/replaced: plugs wires cap rotor TFI(2x) timing (4x) fuel pressure vacuum leaks fuel pump TPS ECT sensor ACT sensor any guesses? How about the "Hall Sensor" INSIDE the distribitor? It failed a resistance check after all of the aforementioned troubleshooting. So much for my fancy MALLORY Ignition. Do not but the Mallory distributor. I found my duraspark that has been sitting in a box for 4 years and it is the best my car has run with the new motor yet. Mustangs..if you have one, you are probably going to become a problem drinker. But you'll be a quick one.

Excellent! I am glad you've found your problem. As far as the drinking goes, I'd be careful...
So what does that 30hp translate into for total RWHP? Did you make it to 340??? Later |

Actually....
incidentally, I am putting in an SN 95 electric fan kit today as a little reward for discovering the problem.
It never ends...

Me too...
Exgmguy,
Me too. The fact that the motor had been missing since I installed everything had me thinking of at least the possibility of a "flat" spot on a lobe or something. I will probably still look into getting a custom grind after my next dyno run and see if it will yield some hp. I have a pretty tall hp order for my 306 by July.

I seem to remember somebody having problems with their Mallory distributor/ignition before, but I didn't want to jump the gun and point fingers. At least you got the problem fixed, which is sweet.

Congrats on the fix man ,can you tell me where to buy the sn-95 kit ?I had a 95 GT and loved the fan setup over the clutch fan on my 88.I am upgrading to a 130 amp alt. so now it will be feasable to run a electric fan(damn underdrives lol)
