Angry Feel my pain

After learning all my hard knocks figuring out how to swap out a flywheel, clutch and trans in my 90 coupe, I was treated to a nice kick in the jewls. The T-5 I paid $400 for which was supposedly put together by a reputable shop was in fact a junkbox. No amout of persuasion will get it to shift into reverse. I took the Stang for a spin, all the 5 forward gears work ok, there is a bearing like rattling only in second that goes away during decel. Man I am completely pissed. The Ford motorsports flywheel and clutch I got from Forte's work real sweet. Heavier pedal feel, but smooth as butter. I am getting a price to rebuild the T-5 that was in the car previously, and I am going to take the other T-5 out and create a new exit for the guy. This trans came from CD performance in Fall River MA, the guy has avoided me for almost two weeks now, not a good move! He is a distributor for vortec etc and has a shop so I thought I was getting a good trans, NOT!

The moral of the story you get what you pay for!!!! I should have just gotten the T-5Z while I was at Forte's or had a local guy rebuilt the existing trans.

Hey I am getting to be an expert with this Mustang, and I have only driven it 8 miles so far

Took the previously smoked T-5 to a REPUTABLE local shop. We got the T-5 I got boned on out in about an hour. Ran that over to the shop as well. He will diagnose both for no charge. I don't have tremendous hope of any resolution with CD Perf, so that trans may end up getting fixed. The shop had a T-5 apart on the bench, so I felt pretty good, nice clean busy shop, please god don't let me get hosed again

Whenever you buy anything used that is supposed to be in working condition have them sign a paper stating that.

Cool

i had the same problem, i had a clutch changed and i couldn't get it into reverse afterwards........turns out it was the clutch cable, it was soooo stretched out that it wouldn't pull the clutch disc out enough to get it into reverse

Hmmm, I did replace the clutch cable along with the flywheel and clutch. Should stick a new fork in too while the trans is out.

I got a Message from CD today he apparently got my letter. He was supposedly not around, that is why no response. We'll see what happens with that.
