Default sucking oil in intake

I just finished putting the new motor in and now its sucking alot of oil in through pcv, its always sucked a little but now its so bad I leave a smoke trail behind me.

Yes the intake has the baffle on it and yes the pcv has the screen I've replaced the pcv installed a fuel filter in line but oil just goes right through it
any ideas???

Default Breather

Install a in-line breather baffle.(If you are not concerned about emissions)
And if you don't have breathers on your valve covers, consider installing them.

yea that's what I planned to cap off pcv and install a beather in the vc, but that just a bandaid fix. I prefer to keep my pcv,but not at the cost of a quart ever 100 miles

use a motorcraft PVC and if that doesnt fix it then run a inline fuel filter..worked for me

What kind of valve covers are you using? Are you still running the tube from the pass side valve cover to the throttle body? What happens when you take the oil cap off while running do you get the same effect? Have you checked manifold vacum at idle and WOT. Do you get pressure or just vacum? It almost sounds like you have an oil passage blocked somewhere and oil cant return to the pan quick enough. I heard of an FMS A-4 block come directly from Ford with no oil return passages drilled out. OOPS.

Default Oil in intake

I too have a lot of oil in my upper intake runners. In particular number 5. I think that my pcv letting way too much through and on my GT40 intake, the way the vacuum tree runs underneath the plenum it seems to be pulling in a lot in number 5. In fact , it may be the reason I am fouling number 5. It is wierd that it is bad in just one cylinder, but the vacuum tree position makes it look like something worth checking out.
After checking valve seals, compression, etc, it seems that the oil is too high in the runner (in the upper runner!) to be a problem in the head.
I run one moroso breather on the passenger side vc. I also have a Melling high-volume oil pump and my oil pressure is seldom below 60 psi. And yes, I gotta clean the area every month because of oil vapor.
I think you are on to something, and I have read that there is a particular motorcraft pcv that should alleviate the problem. I think that is what XLR8R was talking about.

Something interesting you can try (that i've done on higher mileage cars) is take off the oil cap and rev the engine a little, you can sometimes get an idea of how much blowby your getting by seeing it coming out the oil filler.

Default Filter...

I actually put three feet of 3/8" vacuum hose between my pcv and the upper intake manifold vacuuum tree. About 8 inches before the manifold connection, I put a clear fuel filter with a paper element in it.
Holy *****.
I couldn't believe how much oil is getting by in vapor form.
I cleaned out my upper intake manifold which was filthy.

Only bad thing is, I'm still fouling number 5.
Did ANOTHER dry compression test
5-108 PSI
6-108
7-112
8-118
these were off of it cold.
I still have no smoke ever.

Anyway, I am convinced that it is a blown head gasket or bad oil control ring on number 5. I just have to figure out three days that I can take my car out of service to tear it down.

Then, might as well make a 331 out of it right?
