Question rich condition

I just got through changing my plugs in my car and gapping them at .45 and set the fuel pressure at 43 with the the regulator unplugged and you can go to the back of the car and smell the fuel coming out of the exhaust. The plugs i bought was ford #42. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks

Set your fuel pressure to 39 psi. Also, you set your pressure with the engine off. You don't need to disconnect the vacuum line to do it. Was the vacuum line disconnected when you noticed the fuel coming out of the exhaust? If so, that's why. Fuel pressure is supposed to go down when vacuum goes up.

I hope you mean 0.045
Jimberg an I have had this discussion before so all I'll say is 43psi is too much.
