Supercharger or stroker for a 351W??

Which application is better for heavy street use and emissions tests? I have the opportunity to get either a small supercharger or stroke the motor for about $300 less. I want to be in the 450HP and 500lbs of torque. What type of HP#'s could I expect from a 351W with aluminum Edlebrock heads and Fuel Injected with roller rockers, Cartech Fuel system and a small Vortech super vs. a 393 stroker with the same setup below in signatures?

You will make more power with an 8psi supercharger than with a stroker, everything else being equal. The stroker will give you more low end torque, but the blown motor will give you a better top end. Typically, a blown 351 with aluminum heads will make anywhere from 500-600 hp, and possibly more depending.

Generally, the stroker will be more reliable and easier to maintain than a blown engine (no detonating, no throwing belts, no fussing with a/f ratios and timing, etc.). The gas quality and state of tune just aren't as critical with a stroker as they are with a blown motor.

That's why my next motor will be a 408...for my Lightning.

I say go with a stroker. Like No Slo Poke said, it'll be easier to maintain. Plus that huge low end torque will come in handy on the street. To get any amount of boost into an engine at street rpm you'd have to have a really big blower with a high step up ratio. Or, of course, there's always Roots/Kenne Belle type blowers.
