![]() Can't say much myself,I've only got 45XXX miles on my blown stang, but I've seen a few cars with 150,ooo+ blower miles and other mods running high 11's low 12's on the tired lil 302
![]() Ford did very well designing these motors. and yes you can use a blower on a daily driven car, just don't be speeding all the time ![]() ------------------ Paxton Blown 87GT |

![]() I have a 93'LX conv. with a S-Trim vortech in it, but the current motor dosen't have high miles though. I've heard blowers put a unnecessary burden on high miles motors, which makes sence due to the high amount of stress that is associated with the gobs of extra horsepower. My advice to you is to enjoy the the power carefully, but to start saving money for a rebuild (why not put a 331 stroker in it??)or a done block....just in case.
I ran a vortech on my stock motor until it had 50,000 on it with no problems at all (except for a blown head gasket). Then sold it to somebody for $500. and installed a DSS block with a main support on it just for extra measure. As for being a daily driver. Thats one of the perks of a blower, as long as you keep the boost under 15lbs it should hardly affect the gas milage of the car (unless your on it all of the time, or install bigger fuel system components which wouldn't be a bad idea). Good Luck and keep us posted! |

![]() I had around 70-80k miles on my stock engine when I added the A-trim. I ran it to just over 100k and switched out the motor. I have no doubt the motor would have kept on going without any problems, I did however develop a valve cover leak.

![]() Another point...I think as long as the engine's oil consumption is low then you'll be fine. If the oil consumption is high, then you risk detonation because the air/fuel is getting diluted with oil. Thanks for letting me share my 2 cents.

![]() Watch out for the FMU, make sure it doesn't die on you at the track. Mine went south for the day and now I have a cracked ring or a cracked piston. Haven't torn it down yet, waiting to build a 351 for the blower to bully around. Should be fun.

![]() I haven't re-installed my upgraded to S-trim but as of a few weeks ago i was daily driving/drag racing mine with 9# of boost and 250,000 on the clock.
I am debating putting the S-trim on as we speak due to fear of destroying my engine. Jarrod ------------------ ![]() 87GT Vortech S-trim, 155intank pump, 24# injectors, 75mm pro-m, cobra intake, exhaust, 3.73's, mega bite jr's, Central coastal mustangs drag springs and some other freebies. |
