Swap questions within
I was wondering if it's possibe to swap an 87 or later nose onto an 86 GT ? If so what other modifications would it require to make it work ? I realize head/foglights would have to be changed anything else though?

It's definately possible. I don't know who to contact but people have done it. There are kits for it. Look through 5.0 magazine.

The nose and hoods are different. I'm not sure about the fenders, but I believe they will fit.

Unit5302, Are you sure the nose and hoods are different??? I am not positive about the noses but I am pretty sure the 86-93 hoods are the same.
I could be wrong though. ------------------ '82 GT 351W C-4,BBK headers,Carter 625 carb,Comp.Cam,Flowmaster exhaust. 1988 GT...T-5,bone stock |

You'll need the nose and a hood from an 87-93 as they are different from the 86 and earlier cars. Other than that, its fairly straight forward. The fenders are the same too.

I've got a hatch off a 79 Capri on my 86 right now, so I know those will work, I'm pretty sure all the body panels will work too.

Just about everything will work. If you go to my homepage http://home.earthlink.net/~cbzfan
you can see my '86. I did all of the body change over work myself, however, to do it right, it is kinda steep. Since the side moldings are different, you'll have to replace those. On the positive side, if you put the front cap on, you'll get to drop the big metal bumber reinforcement at about 30 lbs. Drop me an email if you would like, and I'll answer any questions you might have. |
