Default Systemax vs. Saleen Intake

I was wondering how comparable this intakes are. I have been planning on getting the systemax but came across a saleen intake and wonder if thats as nice of an intake as the systemax. I have an unported cobra on top my afr 165 right now but am looking to swap it out with whatever is going to make the most power. With my c-4 3500 stall set up the car is very torquey and have alot of traction problems on the street so i would like to increase the high rpm power. I am open to other suggestions.

thanks for the help

Ive herd that the holley systemax intake will take some bottom end power to give you the top end power that you are looking for.

Ive never herd of a saleen intake. But I have seen the saleen supercharger that takes the place of the intake manifold.

You could also try an intake spacer. I put a 1" intake spacer on mine and felt a decrease in bottom end and more up top but I still have loads of power down below.

Heres one of the saleen intakes http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eB...category=36474

Over all do you think i would lower e.t with the systemax though? I mean my car is very torquey right now between the 3500 stall, unported cobra intake and stock maf sensor, infact all low end and i cant hook at all on the street and even have some trouble with slicks at the track. I went to the track today and went a 12.57 but only at 105 with a 1.68 60ft and still spun some. What do you think it would run with a systemax (or other intake) and a bigger maf sensor?

thanks for the help

That saleen intake looks exactly like the systemax intake.

Im not too sure what numbers you should expect with either one but I am sure it it would lower the numbers to at least a 12.4 or 12.3. because it would get rid of some of your low end and give you more top end therefor making you hook better off the line. hell maybee you could even see a 12.2 but I don't relly know. Im sure someone on this board has the systemax intake on their car and could tell you a little more about it than I can.

The Holley Systemax intake is actually the better of the two intakes. The reason for this is in the lower manifold. The Saleen just uses the 5.0 truck lower and is not as free flowing as the Holley manifold. The truck lower usually flows better than a stock Mustang lower but the Holley is a much better design. If you had the two side by side you could see a big difference in the lowers. The uppers are very simular. Go for the Holley it will make better power overall.

I have seen two cars at the track with the vortech saleen intake, they were both extremely fast cars, but also supercharged, they seemed to like the saleen intake, i sure do, looks nice. heard it is expensive htough.
