Post T-rex & 255 intank

GraesyCarl,I have the T-rex to go inline and I also have a 255lph intank pump. Sufficient or overkill? Which is better,T-rex&255 or T-rex & stock?

What kind of power are you going to make?

In general it is hard to put too large of a fuel pump in a car, except for some of the race pumps that really pump a lot.

A T-rex and the stock in-tank is good for about 425 or so from what I have seen...maybe a little more but those factory 87 to 93 pumps vary quite a bit so if in doubt change that baby!

A 255 in-tank and T-rex can get you up to about 550 at the rear wheels, which is the point where the factory fuel rails really start to become a factor. Your engine could also be a factor as well, how much fuel it requires (efficiency) can affect this. No matter what you do, if you decide to shoot for big power with those pumps make sure they get plenty of voltage and watch your factory fuel pump relay, a 255 will draw a lot of juice and the factory relay can get hot and shut off especially if it is a few years old.

unless u allready have a 255 intake now then i suggest a 190 with a t-rex..a 190 pump is the recremended pump for the use with external pumps

LX XLR8 - why a 190 instead of the 255? Less draw on the electrical stuff?

Thanks, E

if i had to guess id say that it had to do with GPM and PSI of the fuel..i cant see a 255 taking that muchmore power..i know that in i belive it was the steeda catolog they say next to either the vortech external or the 190 pump they say that they are recremened 2gether when using a external pump..

when you guys are using the Trex pump and the 255 lph intank pump, are these hocked up so the intank feeds the trex or are they working in parallel. Just curious as to why you don't just use the intank pump at 255 as if I recall the trex is only a 225lph pump.
Straighten me up on this please
