Exclamation T5 hellllppppp!!!!

I am going today to look at a T5 (supposedly for V8) to put in my 4 cyl. to V8 conversion car and I need to know some things that I can look for that make it noticeably stand out from the 4 cyl. T5. The guy only wants 50 bucks but says it needs rebuilt!!!! Thanks ahead of time for any replies.

Are you planning on doing the rebuild to it? If not, pass. A good rebuild on a T-5 will cost you as much as a new one from a solid supplier.

The input shaft on the 5.0 T-5 is larger in diameter than the 2.3L.

he is correct... the input shaft on 2.3l are smaller!! You can put them behind a 302 with the proper Pilot Bearing the 4 cyl are geared LOWER!

When I rebuilt my 4 speed, it cost me over $1000, look for one it is in better shape. But it didn't help that I got some rare tranny that almost no one could find parts for it.
