![]() Recently, my stock pony rims have been developing minor stains that look like brake-dust. I can wash off the dust, but the stains stay.
Is there a cleaner that you would recommend to remove these stains without damaging the finish on the rims themselves? Any advice will be appreciated. Thanks. If you're in the area, we will be in Reynolds GA this weekend for the NMRA nationals....... Thanks! Mike C. |

![]() I would try using an aluminum polish. I know that weenol works good. I dont know if you can get it at the store though. Worth a shot to take a look though.

![]() Do you think it would take off the clear coat, though? What do you think?

![]() Weenol is safe for all metal finishes. I do believe its safe on clear coat. Go to the parts store and see if they carry it. Read the back it may say either way. If they dont carry it then look for another wheel polish.

![]() a damp cloth and some polishing compound with lite pressure. if that doesnt work, it is embedded in the clearcoat of the wheels. DO NOT USE ANY ALUMIUNUM WASH! they have acids and will take off your clear coat and ruin the aluminum!
