Post i need flywheel/tq help

i have a 85 mustang witha 302 and was a manual but now its a auto i got a different 157 tooth flywheel and torque converter the cnverter fits insde the flywheel but when you put the converter in the bellhousing it wont sit back far enough is there maybe a smaller tq i can get?

When you put the converter on the trans input shaft, are you rotating it so it engages the pump gear? When it engages, it drops in about 1/2" - 3/4". That's providing you have the correct converter.

yeah it tuned then droped nto place bt the tq rubs on the bell housing and the studs off of the back ofthe tq stick out farther then the bellhousing does

it s a c-4 but i think the bell housing is just to small if i get the deep husing t wil all be fine

if you turned it and it dropped into place one notch then keep going. it should drop in a few notches. sometimes the pump bushings are tight and it takes a while to get them in. when it sits in where the studs are lined up with the bellhousing its good.

no itttt cant go back any fartherit is hitting the bell housing almost like the tq is too big but the trans shop said that i need the deep bell housing and it will olve everything thanks
