Test drove a new Lightning today....
All I have to say is damn thats a nice truck. I want one, I will have one. What great power with such a smooth ride. I think that I scared the sales guy though, doing 80 my g/f said in a 45 kinda scared him. But the one I test drove is perfect, black with the black/grey interior, damn. The only reason that I didn't get it was the payments were a little higher than I can afford right now. I think it was in the $340 a month range, with the trade-in of my '98 explorer. Mark my words I want one, and I will get one.
Damn thats one bad *** truck. ------------------ 14.44 best et with street tires, spinning first and second hard. Mods:BBK 2 1/2 inch h-pipe with 1 chamber American thunder flowmasters 3.73's Steeda lowering springs 245/50/16 Nittos |

I've really never had any interest in trucks or wanted to buy one until the Lightning (although the Syclone started me thinking). I love those trucks.

I am still trying to get my wife to get one but she does not like them anyway I saw one run a 12.4 at 112 mph in the 1/4mile with a chip and nitrous in a bag.
It was running mid 13.s without the n2o. ------------------ James Cox nochevy@hotmail.com 1991 Mustang LX No good times with 347 stroker yet! |

Ok, I am more than likely going to get one, probably going to trade in the '98 explorer, and sell the mustang outright, so if anyone is interested e-mail me . I am selling it for $3500 o.b.o.

That's not fair, man! My dealership sucks - they won't let you test drive Cobras or Lightnings.

From what I understand, some dealerships want a refundable down payment sort of. I guess I got lucky and got the new guy who was still learning english, so I got to beat on it, and I guess its official, I will be getting one by the end of this week, or the beginning of next.

Yeah my friend's lightning runs high 12's low 13's on motor. It ran 12.39 and 112 back to back with a 75 shot of n20.
Johnny lightning just made a nitrous program just for my buddy, good for a 125 shot. I doubt the factory head bolts and head gaskets will hold that. But it's not my truck. I ordered the 100 pill for it. We will be running it at Ubly Dragway on the 13th of October, along with my boss's 422 stroker notchback. Unfortunately my car is inoperable, I've got a broken transmission and a dead cylinder. Jason |
