Test drove a Mach I
I was toying with the idea of getting a new Mach I and getting crazy with mods on my '00 GT since the warranty is up on it now. At the dealership in town they had a $7500 markup on the Mach I that pushed the price to $37K. They quickly told me when I started talking to them that they would drop the entire markup if I wanted to buy that day.
Now for the good stuff. The interior is sweet and the seats are well bolstered. When you are in the drivers seat the hood scoop sticking up is very noticeable and looks mean. The car felt like it had better midrange power than the '99 and '01 Cobras I checked out. To be honest, it didn't feel any quicker than my bolt-on GT up to about 5K rpm or so, especially considering it's got 3.55s stock, but keep revving after that and it feels very strong. I didn't take it up to redline since it was a new car, but I took it a little over 6. It definitely felt like a solid 13-flat or low-13 1/4 miler on street tires. I'd say if they'll sell you one for $29K without any markup it's a heck of a car.

I waited 6 weeks for one to come in, I went to go look at it as soon as it came in, and then was going to go take it for a test drive with my dad the following day but they already sold it. =( I don't believe there was any markup on it. I'm just trying to remember how much they were selling it for but I believe it was only like $38-39k. I am pretty certain it wasn't over 40,000. But that is Canadian.

I wish I still had mine. I can't even express how much I miss that car. Or miss having a Muscle Car. But I'm pretty confident I'm getting something real soon.

Shop around. I came across the same problem with my car, but by contacting a couple of the dealerships in the area I found 2 that where selling them at sticker. Sorry I am not going to spean $35k on a car when I can spend that much for a Cobra. You might want to contact some dealerships to see if they are selling the car at sticker, there are some that are.
