TFI module help!
 
I'm tryin to replace my pick up coil but I need help getting the sucker out! I got the distributor out but i cant get the shaft to slide out...The haynes manual doesnt tell me a freakin thing about it..
I need help from someone's have replaced the pick up coil

They make a puller to pull the gear off of the dizzy. You have to get the pins out of the shaft that hold the gear, the use the puller to get the gear off. After that, you shouldn't have any problems getting the PiP out. However putting the gear back on and lining up the holes for the pins at the same time is a big PITA.

We just changed the pickup in our stang.. Mark a spot on the gears and on the shaft so you know exactly where to line the gears up when you reasemble. Once you got everything taken apart clean the shaft real good and the gears should simply slide right back on.

I got the tfi module and the pick up coil replaced..
I even got the distributor to line up with #1 cylinder tdc!!!
(I forgot to mark it when i took it out ,doh)
I let the car run for about 1/2 and really hot..and didnt bog down
seems to be fine now<fingers crossed>
I'm just so elated! I'm gonna hunt down some coffee can
Honda's hehe
