TFS heads and stock short block

when useing the tfs heads I have heard you have to fly cut the pistons and if not what is the limit to the cam that can be used before you have smack smack smack on the pitons

Flycutting of the pistons all depends on your total lift, rocker ratio and duration of cam. Remember that big lift cams don't always mean big power, the entire combination has to work together.

Check out TFS' site at www.trickflow.com for some good technical information.

FWIW, on my old setup, I had used a .480/.480 (w/1.6's) 220/226 with 115 lobe separation with no issues whatsoever. My new engine has custom TFS TW pistons (Probe Industries Sportsman Race Series) so that I'm safe to nearly .650" - way more than I'll ever go.

thanks I wll most likely go with 1.6 rockers and a cam from tfs or the e-303 or and anderson motors

I've heard good things about the Anderson cams. Rick is a bit secretive about the cam specs (I guess I would be too if I had such success :) )

Good luck,

Total lift on my cam is about 512/514 with 1.6RR on the TW heads. stock pistons, I have no probs but was told it is close and to upgrade pistons before rockers or cam. good luck:D
