Default Is there a rearend out there thats better than my 91 gt stock gears i could just get

Thanks i just want to keep my eyes open for one if i can find one i can just get and switch out my whole rearend instead of just doing the gears.

The only thing better than the 8.8 is the Ford 9" rear end, but you don't need that. Why do you want to change?, there are excellent upgrades and/or replacement carrier units available, i have just a basic upgrade of a 31 spline trac-lok, with an added steel to help it lock up, i run 95W-140W gear oil with NO friction modifier, I have butt-whooped my car into the low 11's launching on the moon with nitrous with a standard motorsport clutch and never have had a problem, as a matter of fact i ran mid 12's with the stock unit with the above mentioned fluids and never had a problem there either. You have a stong unit from the factory now...stay with it, it works great.

Well the reason i asked was instead of going through getting like 373's installed i heard that the explorer rearends would bolt right up and they have 373's already! Also i have a bent passenger side axel! Just wondering

Although the explorer rear may bolt up, I think you would leave one black mark instead of two if you know what I mean..
