![]() The coupe I recently purchased was supposed to have 3.73 gears in it. I purchased the car as a rolling chasis so I towed it home. I have completed the engine and tranny and decided to jack up the rear end and change the gear oil and check to see if it really had 3.73 gears.
If you jack up the rear and turn the tire one turn you can count how many revolutions the drive shaft makes to figure out your gear ratio. If you do this to a car with stock gears the drive shaft will turn 2 and 3/4 turns. The problem is my drive shaft doesnt even make 2 complete rotations if you rotate the tire once. I had some friends come over and check it out to make sure I wasnt crazy. They were tripping out as well when I showed them. Anyone know WTF!!! Surely my car doesnt have less than a 2.0 gear ratio.
