Not sure if the B50 block is the new Sportsman block or not...but if it is, then definitely go for that block. The stock blocks can take up to 5 even 600 horse with a main girdle and good assembly, but they dont live there long. If you do any street driving in that hp. range you will wear out the block quickly. The new Sportsman block looks a lot line a HiPo 289 block if you've ever seen one, the mains look a little larger than the mexican block, and the webing looks very tough. In the svo catalog they rate the block to 600hp for semicontinuous usage, keep in mind that the R302 is rated at 1200hp and continuously sees well over that figure in many Pro5.0 cars.
