Tickin noise

There a ticking noise coming outta my engine, i'm pretty sure its not exhaust cause I tightend all the bolts recently and everything new and a rust free I think I might have a lifter loose so my next day off I was goin to take of my valves covers and have a peak see if anything is loose, anyone know the torqe specs for the lifters and such or a good refrence.

Ticking noise sounds could probly be a number of things. I know I have like a ticking kind of noise coming from my engine but I'm pretty sure its the head gasket with small hole in it because I went through this before.. http://images.bravenet.com/brpics/smilie/15_weeping.gif

Before you pull apart everything, grab a piece of hose about 2 feet long. Place on end to your ear and move the other end around the area of the ticking. This will help determine if it is an exhaust leak or another problem.

You don't torque lifters, I think you mean rockers. Lifters are at the end of the pushrods and there is no tighening there. Rockers should be torqued between 18-20 ft/lbs. There is also proper ways to do so.
