tire size on turbines

I need new rubber for my stock turbines in my 90 GT, I believe they are 15x7, now whats the largest tire i can run in the front without rubbing or sticking out? Same question for the rear. From what I read 245/60's fit all around and maybe even 265/60's in the back. Whats the largest tire I can run in the rear w/ turbines without rolling or modifying anything?

255's is as wide as you can go with out rubbing.

Did you mean the front or back?

Dark_5.0 02-11-2003 08:24 AM

I dunno about the front cause I always just run 225's in the front.

I do know though that 255 BF Goodrich Drag Radials barely fit and I mean barely.

Well since you said the 255's BARELY fit, I'm thinkin bout gettin 245's for the back and stickin w/ stock 225's up front. Any other opinions? Will I rub or be able to turn fully w/ 245's up front?

You can run 245's on all 4 corners with no problems

I've got 265/50 15's on the rear of mine and they dont rub. Havent in the last 2 years. As a matter of fact I'm either gonna get 26X11.5 15 ET streets or the 275/60/15 BFG DR's.

Alot depends on the brand of tire.

26X11.5X15 ET streets will not rub as they are not really 11.5 inches wide.

Like I said 255' BFG DR's barely fit, the only way you can run 275 BFG DR's is if you get rims with different back spacing.

Would 245's on turbines rub up front with a set of FMS B or C springs?

Hey Dark_5.0, are your 255 BFG DR's 16 inch? When I bought mine a couple of weeks ago I could only find 235 and 275 in 15 inch. I went with the 235, but would have loved a 255.

Just wondering...

I dont own BFG drag radials but I borrowed some 255's that were mounted on 16 inch pony rims.
