Tires....
Alright, just a couple more quick questions from me...I think that's about all I do Ok, i'm looking for some new tires, currently i'm running 225/45/16's on the pony wheels. They're Nitto 450's. I was fairly pleased with the grip, but considering I haven't had another tire on there, i'm not sure what is considered good or bad. I also noticed when i rotated my tires, that the two rear tires were cupped and the center rain channel completely worn off. I'm thinking of maybe going with some Nitto 555R DR's on the back, not sure about the front. I was also wondering what's the largest tire i can fit on the pony's without possing a rubbing problem, or maybe just run the same size... Oh yeah, according to my mileage I've gotten just a little over 20k miles on these tires from being bought brand new, mostly daily driven, but raced whenever possible.

Nittos are the best street/strip tires. They give you lots of grip when you need it, and help keep you from sliding into the guy infront of you at a light. I have 245-40-17's on my stang all the way around and they rub just a little bit at the extreams in the front. I have heard of people putting 315's in the rear without problem, but I don't know if they had to modify anything (exhaust, fuel tank)... I kept the same size tire on all four rims so I can rotate them when necessary.
Your tired are warn more in the middle because of air pressure. (too much, too little) Keep it between 30 and 35 and you should be fine. (30-35 is what most tires specs ask for) |

IMO 245/45/16's are the best looking 16" tire..as Dunlop SP8000 are the best tire..expessialy for the $$$

tire pressure
Funny thing about the tires being cupped now, also noticing the tread being warn more on the center.... I usually kept my tires at about 32 psi...checking it every couple days...Odd to me i guess..

Dunlops are ok. They just didn't wear all that great. Course, what can you expect from a high performance soft tire? Anyway, I'm running some Yokohama AVS ES100's. Haven't had 'em long, but the traction is good so far. Great price, too.

I was never able to hook with the nitto drag radials 245/50/16.
I wont buy them again.
