Default 5.0 fuel rails

I'm pulling the engine out of my mustang and I have everything disconnected except for the fuel rails, and I have no clue how these come apart. I pulled the clips off, but I can't get them to pull apart?

any suggestions I would really apprciate, this thing has been sitting like this for 3 days now and I want it out so I can do what I have to do and get it back in so I can cruise around.

thanks.

Default Re: 5.0 fuel rails

Go to your local Autozone and ask for a set of Ford fuel line tools. They'll be six or seven round white plastic doo-hickies of varying diameters, all on a carrying rack. Should only cost about $7. They slide on around the fuel line and when pushed into the connector disengage the retaining spring. The two connector halves will then pull apart.
