Question Tires won't chirp anymore, why?

Well, when I first installed my shift kit I was able to get a chirp between 1-2. Upon returning home to check fluid level, I discovered it was low. Filled it up with cheapo parts store tranny fluid. Ever since then, no more chirps. Is this because that damn cheapo fluid is too slick? Is there some sort of additive I can add for more firmness?

Question

i might be wrong but you dont want your tires to cherp cause when your tires cherp they are breaking from traction and the less traction you have the slower your car is goiong to run cause your just burnning power.
Like i said i might be wrong so if i am people please correct me.
But you do want your aod to shift harder just not to hard with the shift kit.

I never tried it but you can try some b&m trick shift. It is similar to the stuff that paxton uses in there blowers (not the novi)

Cool

Your car should definately be able to spin 1st and at least chirp 2nd. (obviously in a race, you'd rather not spin them though). If your car can't chirp/spin like it used to, I'd guess that you're also having some other performance problems (like loss of power otherwise too).

I might give the Trick Shift stuff a try. I'm not down on power though, car feels good and spins like crazy from a stop with the 3.73s. The chirping between gears just sounds and feels so cool, I need it back!

When I read this subject of this post, first thing I thought was "uh-oh, sounds like its time for a rebuild". Thats what it sounds like to me. Try some better fluid, and see if that clears stuff up.

Good news guys... I did some searching and found out that if your fluid level is too high you will get softer shifts. Turns out my fluid level is way high (over the checkered part of the stick when cold). I'm taking some out tomorrow with some tubing. I'll update y'all.

It could just be the fact that the tread on your tires are getting low. It sounds as if you like to burn rubber a lot.
Maybe your tires are spinning but just not making any noise anymore.
The tires on my 88GT don't squeal anymore either but I know they are spinning because the revs get higher.(Plus the car is sideways!)

You probably are and just can't hear it. I put in a 5-speed and couldn't bark 2nd, even by dumping the clutch. I was pisst. Then I bought new tires and realized they were spinning, and I just could'nt hear it. Can't wait for gears so I can bark 3rd.

I just realized I hav'nt updated my sig.
I went 14.7@93.1 with the new trans

I had all the mods in my signature. The only thing I did for the 14.7 was a T-5 swap. Not to mention the 14.7 run was'nt even a good run, it still bogged a little in first. With the AOD I launched it at 1800 and with no tire spin (not even a chirp)it went 15.5. I was kind of dissapointed with the AOD's times, but the cam hurt my low end power.
