i was just wondering what everyone thinks about adding a supercharger on a motor with 86000 miles it is not a daily driver and i dont take it to the track much just want to waste my buddies firebird and any other mildly built 350 i would like to get as much life out of the motor as a can though so i was thinking about staying around 6psi has anyone else done this at this many miles and if so what brand did you recomend was considering the ati

I used to run 11 psi on a stock motor with 62,000 on it with no problems. I would go 9 psi if I was going to bother putting a blower on it.

86K shouldnt be a problem at all, as long as your motor is in good shape. But dont waste your time with 6 lbs. Go for at least 9 and up..

thanks for the response is the diff from 6 to 9 psi very noticable and any one have a recomendation on a company that has a good complete kit something that wont require me to purchase a hole lot extra on top of the supercharger and if not what should i figure on purchasing above and beyond the kit thanks

A nice 9 psi kit from any of the major players (ATI ProCharger, Vortech, etc.) should come with most of the necessary upgrades you need (i.e. fuel system requirements). Plus, what's nice about the 9 psi kit on a near stock car is that you probably will not have to dump a bunch of money in to it just to keep it running well.

You'll enjoy the 9 psi kit, IMO. Easy on the street and nice power when you get on it. A compression check / leak down test would be a good idea before the purchase just to see what you're dealing with.

I thought that every pound of boost equalled about 15hp. That would mean a difference of about 45hp.

I wanted to know the same thing at this guy. So a cam, mass air meter with or with out tube, fuel pump, or even higher lbs fuel injectors aren't needed? My stang is new to me and very bone stock. I bought it off a very old judge. Also does a 5 speed tranny need to be beefed up in anyway to handel the aditional power? Does anyone know if superchargers make it harder to pass california emissions(so tuff!!)?

well i have been looking at everyones site and i think i am going to go with the ati procharger just wondering if anyone knows a reputable dealer near me (im in pa) also ive not been able to find any prices does anyone know aprox how much their 9psi kit is thanks for all the help

there is a place in pottstown, PA called performance specialties they do really good work. I havent gotten anything done from there but some people i know have and have been very pleased. If you need info on how to get there or a phone number PM me and i can get the info for ya. Good luck with gettin that blower. Oh yeah and they have a dyno jet there too so if you want to get your stang dyno tuned once the blower is put on they can get that done for you also i think its like $60-$70 for 3 pulls not 100% sure tho.
