Cool too much body flex

Ok, here's the deal. I have a 94 gt conv. that has a lot of flex to the body. I have a friend with (I think) BBK subframes on his 95 gt conv. His car is really stiff and I want mine like that.

Money somewhat of an issue. I don't want to spend more than $100 on the parts; and I know it will cost me atleast an hour's worth of labor.

Couple of people have told me to go with Kenny Brown subframe connectors, but I don't think they make a conv. set.

Is there a difference between the hardtop connectors and conv. connectors?

Can someone recommend a good set of subframe connectors for my conv.?

There are so many different brands out there and feedback would be greatly appreciated.

Also, after this I will be looking to do a lowering kit and C/C plates. Any recommendations on those? What kind of combo would complement the subframe connectors really well?

Thanks in advance guys.

I got mine from Steeda and they look exactly the same as my friends convertible. I had them welded at a local shop for like $15.00 and it made a huge difference! Good luck!

Steeda claims that the round sub frame connectors flex much less than the square tubes do. Do your self a favor and get the ones that bolt to the seat post. If you dont do much drag racing I would say just bolt them on and later try and find the best price for getting them welded in. Good luck.

Thanks guys. So now that I hear about the ones that weld to the seat posts, where can I get them from? How much will they cost me?

I really want to save my body.

I don't do MUCH drag racing, but I do want my car to handle and stay stiff. Probably going to have them welded in when I get them.

Thanks again.

Thumbs up

get round ones! thats pretty much the best piece of advice you can get on subframe connectors. look into a strut tower brace too a little over 100 bucks and you can do it yourself. i have both, plus the lower brace too. makes a biiiiig difference. GOOD LUCK!!!!!!
PS when you DO get all this....dont get too cocky on corners......thats how i lost my 86.....
