Tornado?
Anybody seen this infomercial on TV about the tornado fuel saver. The website is tornadofuelsaver.com. They're claiming increased hp and mpg due to this device ($79)you put in the intake tube to create a vortex. I was curious if anybody has seen or tried this. It makes sense, but with a efi setup, I didn't know if this vortex would carry through the flowrunners of the upper intake to really make much of a difference with fuel atomization.

It's junk.
|
First off, let me say that I have no first hand experience with this, and that my input is purely speculative, based on my knowledge and experience.
Okay, that being said, I agree that it's probably junk. The theory behind the idea makes sense, on paper, for a carburetted engine because with a carb, the air and fuel are entering the intake together, and anything that would atomize the fuel together with the air should increase power and mileage. I would still never use one. As far as adding it to an EFI combo, I don't see it being anything more than an air restriction, which can't be good. Take care, -Chris |
JUNK
I read somewhere that those things are junk, a vehicle product test. The put it on a 4.3 V6 in a Blazer and they said it did nothing, period. Didn't add power, didn't take away, MPG stayed the same. But, if you really have $$ burning, just send it to me....LMAO...
