Track results are in.

Well, I always find it helpfull to see all the times that people post on this site after a trip down the track. So after waiting a year for my motor to be finished. (As a side note, let me just offer some advice, NEVER...EVER tell an engine or shop of any kind to "take their time" or "there is no rush", you will be waiting FOREVER for your parts). So in any case, I finally get my car back together three weeks ago and last night make it to the local track, the temp finally got down to about 75 degrees so I was glad for that.

Anyway, the car did very well, 10.97 in the 1/4 at 125.6 mph. 60' was 1.69.
I left at around 1500 rpms on the foot brake and let it flash the rest.

I think that if I use the trans brake and launch hard at around 3500 or 4000 and with a better 60', I should be around 10.60's.
Does that sound right??

I converted over to a carburetor plus many other things. In case anyone finds my combo usefull, then here is what I have.

347
12 to 1 compression
Steel Crank
Moser Spool
4.56 rear
5000 Stall Conv
c-4 trans
Trick Flow Street Heat Heads
Victor Jr intake
750 HP Holley Carb (out of the box)
Energy Solid Roller Cam 690 lift with 280 duration
Aerospace Water Pump
Elec fans
Manual brakes and steering
MSD Ignition
Holley Blue Pump

So anyway, I think if I launch harder things will pick up. Also, I talked to some people and they say that I need a bigger Carb, like an 850 or at least need to modify my 750 some.

Regards,
James

Yes, I had a guy here local do the work. I live in Richmond VA. He opened up the In/Ex allot, and put larger valves in, In. is 2.05 and the Ex is 1.96? (I think, need to go back and check). Anyway, it was the biggest valves that a TF Street Heat head will take with extensive porting to the Victor Jr.

Nice times first time out, that transbrake will take some time to get use to but I do think the car will shave a few tenths off. My buddy actully runs faster with out the transbrae as he is still learning that. Any dyno numbers? or flow numbers on those heads?

Sounds like you've got a strong runner there James. What part of town do you live in? I'd like to see that thing run sometime. You go to Dinwiddie or Richmond?
