Question how do i ID tremec/t-5????

My friends 85 coupe, it has a short throw hurst, and he's looking for another shifter, and we arent sure if it's a T-5 or what, how do i tell? bellhousing or what?

thnx for all the help, im thinking it;s a tremec, cuz it's "notchy" and it feels different from a t-5, but not sure?

Look at the shifter. If it is bolted on with 4 bolts, it's a T-5. If it has 6, it's a Tremec.
