Track test superchip
Well,i've post a topic maybe to two weeks ago about a guy how have switch to mass-air and gave me his speed density chip. I had to put the timing back to 10 degree ( 14 before the chip). Everyone told me that this chip will do nothing.I've done my test with street E.T between 1:30pm to 5:00 pm( same temp)to make sure my car was constant.I've pick up a tenth and 1mph.( from 13.15 to 13.05 and from 103.7 to 104.6)I've done three run with the chip and three run without the chip. I let the car cool down 10 minutes with the electic fan on engine off between each run. I did not put the 160 stat recommended by superchip. I know it's not the best bang for the buck ,but in my case it work and i did not pay for it.

Well I'm no expert and I did not see your mods. But my understanding is that a chip will most likely yeild nothing on a stock car. Obviously if you were already running a 13.1 thats alot quicker than stock. This is where the chip should actually help. However it only gave you 1 tenth? Thats not anything to write home about. If anything it most likely set the timing to the optimum setting rather than where you had it.

What are the chips supposed to change anyways? I know that they change the timing curve, but do they mess with injector pulse width or anything like that? I've never really looked into chips because i like running on 87 octane on the street. I've heard that if you modify your car it's best to get a chip custom burnt and have it tested on a chassis dynamometer.
